Fund greater police presence in bike theft hotspots

Petition Details

There have been increased reports recently of violent bike theft in Richmond Park, Regents Park and other public spaces. The victims of such incidents may be fearful for their lives and may not have the courage to cycle again. This is abhorrent.

Additional Information

I do not think the current police response to these cases is acceptable; cases are not investigated sufficiently.

However, the fear amongst the cycling community is constant and palpable. Almost everyday I see reports shared on social media platforms warning of yet another bike jacking.

We would like to see more police present in known hotspots and more resources available to catch thieves and punish them appropriately.
