Make employers aware that depression is a real illness and employees should receive sick pay as normal.

Additional Information

All employees in the United Kingdom should be entitled to sick pay if they are depressed and provide a valid doctors note confirming this.

All employers in the United Kingdom should be made aware that this is a real illness and not paying staff while they are off with depression is only going to make that employee worse.

It is unfair that employees are suffering with this illness and then finding out that they are not entitled to sick pay during their time off is unacceptable.

It is down to the government to make these changes and help all the people throughout the country suffering with depression feel as though they have a chance to deal with their illness and not feel pressured into returning to work.
