Petition Action

Stop new legislation for birth parents of adopted children being allowed to seek a court order to apply for contact.

Additional Information

There has been a new legislation put in place which allows birth parents/families the right to seek a court order to apply for contact with children who have, not only in current cases, but all cases where children have already been adopted.
Although the process is not a simple one, adopters will now always have that worry and fear that tomorrow a letter could be received saying a court order is now in process.
These children have come from abused homes and gone through so much but now could possibly face their abusers because somebody thinks it could be in their "best interest.'
We adopt these children so we can be parents not glorified baby sitters.
Sign today so we can turn this legislation around to ensure this can not happen.
