Yorkshire to become an independent state
The first action would be to combine all parts of Yorkshire into one large state and set boundaries accordingly, ceremonial towns and districts would be given the choice via democratic election to either join or be removed from Yorkshire.
I would propose York as a country capital, given heritage and location this appears to be the best choice. We would create a parliament and a democratically elected leader. The team appointed will have to construct a manifesto that covers all major workings of the national such as education, transport, taxation policies...
Passports, monies, and other such sundries would be dealt with by the newly elected 'gaffer' who will represent the 'Democratic Grand State of Yorkshire'
Further discussion will be required as regards boarder control and free trading of goods within the UK.
