Increase cutting in roadwork defect liability period or change QC procedure.
Increase accountability for the reinstament of road surfaces by utility and service providers etc.
Notably more potholes form in areas where recent utility or service works have been carried out. Whereby cutting in has compromised the integrity of the surrounding road surface. Why should local authorities foot the bill for repair works caused by substandard work. Either the full road should be reinstated or responbility for maintaining the road should fall to that party for a having the privilege of those easements.
