Introduce Lighter Evenings!

Additional Information

We the undersigned call on the Government to trial moving the clocks forward an hour throughout the year, also known as 'double summertime', to make the best use of our sunlight and to give us lighter evenings.

People would be happier, healther, safer and use less energy. It would also create a boost to jobs and the tourism industry.

The idea of Single Double Summer Time (SDST) has been debated for years. It simply involves moving our clocks here in the UK one hour further forward than we currently do, all year round. We’d still change our clocks in spring and autumn, so we’d be GMT+1 in winter and GMT+2 in summer.
