Granting amnesty to visa overstay with good behavior can have significant benefits for society, such as:
Reducing the strain on immigration enforcement and detention systems.
Increasing tax revenue from individuals who transition to legal work status.
Social cohesion. Governments should consider the well-being of children, spouses, and dependents. Individuals who face persecution, danger, or severe hardship in their home countries should be prioritized for amnesty under humanitarian grounds.
