Introduce a new enforcement scheme for businesses that violate the Equality Act

Petition Details

Introduce a new enforcement scheme for businesses that violate the Equality Act 2010. This should include immediate fines for discrimination and greater public accountability by publishing a list of violators.

Additional Information

Employment tribunals can be lengthy processes, and many cases may settle privately, we think this may be to hide discrimination. We believe fines create immediate accountability and a public register ensures transparency. Without action, we are concerned disabled employees may be seen as second-class citizens.
