Drive out inefficiencies before authorising major rises in council taxes.
We, the undersigned, demand that local authorities eliminate wasteful spending and improve staff efficiency before imposing any council tax increases. Taxpayers should not be expected to cover financial gaps caused by mismanagement, inefficiency, or laziness within local government.
Only after a thorough review and clear evidence of cost-cutting efforts should the public be asked to contribute more. Accountability must come before additional taxation.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about Council Tax levels and how councils spend their money are matters for individual local authorities.
