Petition Action

Criminalise homophobia and transphobia

Petition Details

We urge the Government to criminalise all homophobia and transphobia by introducing fines to punish transphobia and homophobia. We think these fines should be between £75 to £100 and should incrementally increase if the person is repeatedly transphobic or homophobic.

Additional Information

Even though the Equality Act 2010 already exists, we think citizens of the UK don’t uphold the principles of anti-discrimination. We think if something isn’t working then the Government need to go further. In our view, there are still some LGBTQIA+ people, who are insecure about their identities, because of the fear of backlash. We believe if there were not people against LGBTQIA+, nobody would have to hide who they truly are, and we could live in love and peace.
