Grant £10K per year to small retailers facing losses from shoplifting
We urge the UK government to provide £10,000 yearly grants to support small retailers affected by rising shoplifting and break-ins. These crimes can cause severe financial losses, and may force businesses to close. We believe urgent action is needed to protect local shops and ensure their survival.
We think retail crime, including shoplifting and break-ins, is devastating small businesses. Unlike large chains, small retailers may lack security budgets and face rising insurance costs. We believe the Police response is limited, and that organized crime is exploiting this crisis.
We think these businesses are vital to the economy and communities, and that £10,000 grants could help them recover losses, improve security, and prevent further closures, protecting local jobs and high streets.
