Petition Action

Establish a Public Mechanism to Dissolve Parliament

Petition Details

Establish a mechanism that allows public to vote on dissolving Parliament in cases where it has seriously misrepresented the electorate. triggered by a petition reaching a threshold of verified signatures . If supported by a significant percentage , forces an early general election.

Additional Information

Government must remain accountable to the people it serves. The current system provides no direct mechanism for the electorate to dissolve Parliament when it fails to represent public interests. Votes of no confidence are controlled by MPs, not the public. The result is prolonged governance , eroding public trust .

Ensuring that Parliament remains accountable.

Prevents prolonged political deadlock.

We urge Parliament to debate and implement a fair, democratic, and well-regulated process.
