Bring UK firework legislation in line with Irish legislation, including banning ‘backyard’ fireworks
We request the following alterations to current UK firework legislation:
1) Current UK Firework legislation to be brought in line with Irish legislation: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/justice/criminal_law/criminal_offences/the_law_on_fireworks.html including:
2) Ignition of a category 2-4 firework by a non-professional firework operator in a public OR private place to become an offence
3) Fireworks displays to be restricted to organised displays by licensed professionals only, with the following exception:
4) A free application process to be put in place for allowing fireworks at private parties IF organised by a professional fireworks operator and meeting other terms.
