Repeal five year fixed term parliaments.Return to a four year fixed term.
Since the 2008 financial crash. The then coalition government of tories and liberal democrats.Abolished the then fixed term from four years to five years. This was said at the time as a temporary measure to enable stability in the economy while we avoided bankruptcy.
Most democratic presidents and governments around the world have only four year terms.Which was the case for the UK up until 2008.Five years is too long to put up with a failing government. Now is the time to reduce this temporary forced/fixed term situation.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Fixed Term Parliament Act was repealed in 2022. We have a maximum term of five years but the Government can call an election at any time.
If you would like changes to this, you could start a petition about that.
