Retain the existing £20000 per tax year cash ISA allowance

Petition Details

I wish the UK government to retain the annual £20000 allowance for cash ISAs so that savers earn interest that is free of tax.

Additional Information

Cash ISAs are extremely popular, don’t need simplifying, and the existing allowance means interest earned on already taxed deposits to be free of further taxation. Prudent savers that choose not to invest in longer term but riskier stocks and shares ISAs should be free to do so.
