Allow private nursery’s to charge a consumable charge for funded places.
Nurseries are forced to charge for consumables as government funding falls short of covering operating costs. This policy burdens families and threatens quality childcare. We call on Parliament to remove these restrictions or increase funding to ensure sustainable, accessible care.
Insufficient government funding forces nurseries to charge for essential consumables, placing an undue financial burden on families and jeopardizing childcare quality. With rising operational costs, many nurseries struggle to maintain high standards. We urge Parliament to either boost funding or remove these charging restrictions, ensuring sustainable, accessible, and high-quality early years education for every child.
