Modify the law to encourage & protect encryption & safety of cloud-stored data.
To modify the Investigatory Powers Act of 2016 to increase the security of personal, cloud-based data. Provide new/stronger laws to allow, encourage, & protect the encryption & safety of cloud-based storage & prevent access to personal data by any person/organisation/entity without user consent.
At a time when personal data is becoming more and more important, comprehensive, and essential in everyday life, so too does the need for safety and privacy from those with ulterior motives. Whatever data some unscrupulous people may have access to does not outweigh the impacts on the majority population at a time when data breaches are increasingly common and sophisticated.
