online fraud

Additional Information

Currently there is no central place to report online fraud and no modern laws to deal with online theft efficiently.

Most online businesses will not even report being stolen from because they know nothing will happen about it and they take the loss (or are forced to by the companies they use to promote their sales - Ebay, Amazon, Play etc)

The government needs to set up a department, perhaps within the police force, attached to a website and phone line where people can report names and addresses of fraudsters. The fraudsters then need to be treated in the same way as shoplifters are.

Once found guilty, the names and postal address(es) they use should be issued to Ebay, Amazon, Play, PayPal, online payment authorisation centres, etc. Any organisation who has been passed the information and continues to allow a fraudster to continue stealing should then be charged with aiding and abetting and treated accordingly
