Create a national screening program for prostate cancer
I would like the government to make this test mandatory
PSA test – This blood test checks PSA levels, which can be high due to cancer but also due to other conditions like an enlarged prostate.
No automatic screening – The NHS follows a "shared decision-making" approach, meaning men can discuss the risks and benefits of the PSA test with their Doctor.
Prostate cancer is a significant health concern in the UK, being the most common cancer among men. Each year, more than 12,000 men die from prostate cancer in the UK, averaging 33 deaths daily
These statistics highlight the importance of awareness, early detection, and targeted interventions to reduce prostate cancer mortality in the UK
