Petition Action

Enforce judges to give custodial sentences for all animal cruelty offences.

Petition Details

Start imposing custodial sentences to all those individuals who have committed deliberate acts of cruelty against animals . Those of which that have resulted in the injury ,death or necessary euthanisia of an animal by a vet ,to be given the maximum sentence of five years and a lifetime ban .

Additional Information

Animal lovers in the UK are incensed at the continued paltry suspended sentences imposed by judges to those who have caused deliberate harm , pain and death to animals in their care . The UK is supposed to have the highest standards in animal welfare. The insulting suspended sentences imposed by judges does not reflect this. 29/06/21 the maximum sentence for animal cruelty was increased from 6 months to 5 years . In the last four years not one single sentence of five years has been imposed .
