Historic landscape under threat from roadbuilding
Stop the un-neccessary new A27 at Polegate
which would cost more than
£90 million for 2 miles. Such a road would
•harm the National Park by gravely damaging the view from the Park over the Low Weald
•lose 1000 years of history by breaking up a fully-surviving Saxon field pattern
•destroy the tranquillity of the landscape through which it would run
•harm protected wildlife and sever habitat links
•gravely damage productive agriculture
•remove the barrier to westward urban development from Polegate by detrunking of the existing A27
Make cheaper safety improvements instead!
