Review and reform the court system to address delays
We want the Government to review and reform the court system to reduce delays. We think it should consider introducing expert panels for small claims and non-criminal cases, to enable justice to be delivered faster, fairly, and without the emotional and financial toll of long waits.
We feel the system is outdated, overwhelmed, and breaking people down. Justice delayed is justice denied. People can wait over a year for small claims and can receive no updates or support throughout. We believe many accept unfair outcomes just to avoid the stress and delay. We feel the system is slow, outdated, and damaging. Whether claimant or defendant, people need swift resolution. We think that fast justice deters wrongdoing and restores faith and that the justice system is fuelling a mental health crisis. It’s time for change.
