Expand the Electoral Commission’s Powers to Tackle Overseas Political Investment

Petition Details

Expand the Commission's powers to tackle overseas political investment, especially via UK-registered companies, to prevent foreign interference in our elections. These expanded powers must ensure that companies cannot be used as conduits for illegal foreign investments in our political parties.

Additional Information

There were rumours about Elon Musk potentially donating £78 Million to Reform UK after the July Election (BBC News, 2024), these rumours are especially credible given his $281 Million contribution to Donald Trump's re-election campaign.
