Lending Irresponsibly
If any lender gives cash or goods to a person who cannot afford to repay the debt, then courts would reject any claims to recover the debt.
As a test of "cannot afford" I suggest applying the rules that lenders applied themselves in the 1960's.
The purpose of this legislation would be to prevent lenders from getting people into debts that they cannot afford to repay and encouraging an attitude that you can have anything you desire.
Too many people get casually into debt for frivolous items and the loose everything, including their families, homes and self their respect as a result.
There is no getting back from these situations for unfortunate people who fall victim to easy lending and the burden falls on Local Authorities and Social Services to assist the victims .
