Prevent anyone with a serious conviction from being in Public Office.
Individuals with a conviction for a serious offence should not be allowed to stand for or remain as an MP or Councillor.
Individuals in Public Office should be setting an example of the behaviour expected from members of the public. They should not have a serious conviction before they take office and should be removed immediately if they are convicted during their term. It is important to be clear no-one is above the law, even if they have been voted in before they were convicted.
