Reverse Supreme Court ruling excluding trans women under the Equality Act 2010
Amend the Equality Act 2010 so that the term ‘woman’ includes transgender women with Gender Recognition Certificates and self identified women and protect their rights to access women-only spaces and services.
The recent Supreme Court ruling removes key legal protections from trans women and undermines their rights. The Equality Act should reflect the reality of trans people’s lives and ensure everyone is protected from discrimination and exclusion in public life.
