Aneurin "Nye" Bevan to appear on the next English £20 note
Given the precedent of seeing Scotsmen such as Watt, Boulton and Smith appear on the latest banknotes, we feel it is time that one of the most important Welshmen of the 20th Century be given proper recognition. The son of a coal miner, Aneurin "Nye" Bevan was instrumental in establishing the National Health Service, and was a lifelong campaigner for social justice. We call on the Treasury to request that the Bank of England consider Bevan when designing the next English £20 note.
