Reimburse unfair NHS prescription fines for people nearing 60 with a PPC
Review and reimburse unfair NHS prescription fines for those nearing age 60 with a PPC. Introduce a grace period before age 60 and improve communication around auto-renewal and eligibility changes.
People nearing 60 often receive £100+ fines because their PPC stops renewing without clear warning, just before they qualify for free prescriptions. No letter is sent out, and the info is only on the NHSBSA website, which many elderly may not be able to access. This unfairly penalises loyal PPC users.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about PPCs are a matter for the NHS, rather than a decision about policy or legislation that is made by the Government or Parliament.
