Ban all alcohol paid by taxpayer from Lords' and MPs' events and replace it with juice from concentrate
If we truly are in it together, the 'Champagne Wars' The Guardian writes about (url: http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/dec/07/champagne-house-of-lords-reform-taxpayer?CMP=fb_gu)
is nothing but a mockery of the hard working people of our country.
Certainly, at the time of austerity everyone should contribute to making a recovery. I propose banning all alcohol paid by the taxpayer at events for MPs and Lords and only offer basic value juice from concentrate. The MPs and Lords are more than welcome to contribute to these events out of their own pocket in order to have expensive alcoholic drinks.
Implementing this proposal will help defuse tensions we have in our society, allow the public to regain a trust in politics, as well as save money.
