Petition Action

Stop making it impossible to get a job for young people!

Petition Details

The current system for finding a job is built around CVs and job boards meant for the 1950's. It’s biased, outdated, and is nothing to do with potential. We want the Government to remove CV's and make who you are as a person what decides if you get a job—not paper CVs. Give young people a chance.

Additional Information

More young people are out of work than ever before. There’s no single place to find jobs that don’t need experience. Job sites are outdated, built for parents, not Gen Z. Careers advice in schools isn’t working—young people feel confused, lost, and left behind. The system rewards connections, not potential. We need a modern, fair, skills-based way to help all young people find work, not just the lucky few. Let’s change how the UK hires its future.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand you're concerned about job prospects for young people but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

In any case it's up to individual employers how they assess people for job roles, not the UK Government and Parliament.
