Introducing political education into the national school curriculum.

Petition Details

We want to make political education a key element of the national school curriculum. This will help students understand democracy, rights, responsibility and governance ,empowering them to be informed and engaged in shaping the future.

Additional Information

It is a well known fact that younger people are more reluctant to vote and often don't vote at all. There are many reasons why young people don't vote; Young people often don't understand voting, some younger people don't know how to register to vote and young people don't believe their vote has an impact on local or national policies, Political Education would give young people the knowledge on the impact their vote would have, alongside the importance of casting a vote.
