Review & transition voting to secure, encrypted, decentralized ledger technology
We urge the UK Government to implement a secure, encrypted, decentralized ledger technology for the voting system in elections. This includes commissioning a feasibility study within 12 months, piloting the system in local elections by 2028, and developing a roadmap for nationwide adoption.
This technology must prioritize security, accessibility, and transparency to strengthen public trust and modernize democracy. We believe this approach will deliver secure, transparent, and efficient elections by preventing fraud through tamper-proof records, enhancing trust via public verification, and improving accessibility for all voters. With declining confidence in democratic processes, we think this reform would modernize the UK’s electoral system and set a global benchmark.
