Prevent the ban of halal and kosher meats in the UK
The idea of banning halal and kosher meats goes against the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. This has a significant negative impact on the economy. This increases discriminative behaviour, segregates certain communities and is unjust. We must stand together as one.
We do not want history to repeat itself with divisions of religious beliefs and allow segregation of communities.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
On 9 June 2025, the Government Minister for Food Security and Rural Affairs stated that:
"The Government respects the right of Jews and Muslims to eat meat prepared in accordance with their beliefs. We therefore intend to continue to allow the religious slaughter of animals for consumption by Muslims and Jews."
