Review Shared Ownership Salary Cap
We urge the government to review the Shared Ownership income cap to reflect current living costs and housing prices, which could ensure more working individuals and families can access affordable homeownership support.
We think the current income thresholds for Shared Ownership—£80,000 outside London and £90,000 in London—are outdated and exclude many who still can't afford to buy a home. With rising living costs and stagnant wages, we think these limits no longer reflect economic reality. We think the threshold should be reviewed to ensure the scheme supports those it was designed to help: working individuals and families priced out of the housing market.
