Petition Details

Turn a third of UK coastal seas into fully protected areas for fish repopulation

Additional Information

We have far too few marine sanctuaries. We need to turn a third of all our coastal seas into properly protected areas, if we do that, our fishing grounds would recover and help sustain both humanity and the natural world.”

The UK currently has 24% of coastal areas under some form of protection but commercial fishing is sometimes still allowed in these areas. We need to beef that up to 33% and make them fully protected.
