Debate Prevents guidance on Cultural Nationalism

Petition Details

The UK’s Prevent strategy, under its guidance on ideologies, appears to target concerns about mass migration and lack of integration as potential indicators of extremism. This risks unfairly labeling citizens as threats and could suppress legitimate public and political debate.

Additional Information

This guidance unfairly labels all that have a concern over migration and integration as far right and needs an urgent review.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

A debate occurs if a petition exceeds 100,000 signatures, and the Petition Committee agrees to schedule a debate on the subject, so we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
