Raise the marriage allowance to the full personal allowance of £12750
Currently the UK's personal allowance of £12570 offers individuals a significant tax free income. We propose a crucial adjustment: enabling the full transfer of a non-working partner's personal allowance to their working spouse.
This reform would effectively double a family's tax free income to £25140, providing much-needed financial breathing room and empowering families to choose for one parent to be a stay-at-home carer for their children.
