Launch an inquiry into the application of the bruising protocol
We ask the Government to launch a statutory public inquiry into the application of the bruising protocol for infants.
We request a national inquiry into the application of the bruising protocol by the NHS trusts, social services, and police. We believe that there is inadequate statutory oversight, a lack of uniformity across counties, and a lack of proportionality between medical measures (CT head scans and X-rays) and the evidence that suggests grounds for concern. We are concerned with the unknown long-term effects of ionising radiation (standard in the bruising protocol) on babies. We seek reform and protection for innocent families.
