NHS to evolve to allow both parents to stay with babies and children in hospital
Allow fathers to stay in hospital with their babies or young children alongside mums. Their presence supports bonding, reduces stress, aids the mother’s recovery, and improves outcomes. Both parents are essential — policies must reflect and support that.
Fathers play a vital role in their child’s care and emotional well-being. Being separated during hospital stays causes stress, weakens bonding, and leaves mothers without essential support. Allowing dads to stay supports the whole family. Government policy must reflect the importance of both parents.
