Petition Action

New rules on online gossip sites

Petition Details

Strengthen rules on online gossip sites. Require identity checks for users and takedowns of abuse within 24 hours, alongside the existing regulation in the Online Safety Act.

Additional Information

It’s about every child being spoken about online without consent. Every mum being shamed. Every person scared to post on social media because of bullying. We consider such sites to be hate forums—and ask the government to protect all people from this toxic online culture. It’s for every person who’s been discussed without consent, mocked for their appearance, or made to feel unsafe. It's for the children who will one day read those comments. I’m standing up not just for myself—but for everyone.
