Reconsider the proposed abolishment of Healthwatch England
To reconsider and oppose the proposed abolishment of Healthwatch England and its local services. The abolishment was announced as part of the Government's 10 Year Health Plan, which seeks to bring the health service "in house".
Since 2012, Healthwatch England and its 152 local branches have played a vital, independent role in highlighting issues in health and social care. Free from both NHS and political influence, Healthwatch ensure the public’s voice is heard fairly and transparently. Abolishing this independence would not only dismantle Healthwatch, but also dismantle the voices of UK residents, making the system insular and the opinions of millions oppressed.
