Petition Action

To scrap the 90 day rule.

Petition Details

To allow British citizens the same rights as our European neighbours. They can stay in the UK for 6 months visa free. Allow UK Citizens to stay in European countries for up to 6 months continuously not just 90 days.

Additional Information

The fact that European citizens can stay in our country for 6 months but we are only allowed 90 days in any 180 days, is discriminative. During the Brexit negotiations Britain was offered reciprocal arrangements which the previous Conservative Government turned down.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about the length of time a UK citizen can remain in the European Union are a matter for the European Union.
