Support newly qualified nurses in gaining band 5 roles
Newly qualified nurses are struggling to find band 5 roles due to the job needing “experienced” applicants only and adverts being for only internal candidates only.
Review on access to band 5 roles and improvement to support into practice.
Nurses train for 3 years to join into the NHS, but on qualifying some can’t get jobs. We feel there are too many internal job applications and not enough opportunities for new qualified nurses to have a chance. There are so many newly qualified and upcoming newly qualified nurses ready to care for patients but are being knocked down.
This system is failing the NHS, patients and students
