Enforce mandatory salary range disclosure in all UK job advertisements.
We want the UK Government to make it a legal requirement for all employers to include salary ranges in job adverts and ban questions about salary history. This will promote fairness, reduce inequality, and save time for both candidates and employers.
The EU Pay Transparency Directive mandates salary range disclosure by 2026.
The UK, though no longer in the EU, should not fall behind.
We urge the UK Government to:
Make salary ranges mandatory in job adverts
Ban questions about salary history
Promote pay transparency to help close the gender pay gap.
It’s time to modernise recruitment and put fairness at the heart of employment practices.
