Petition Action

Introduce Stamp 0 visa so self-funded elderly parents can live with UK children

Petition Details

Create a “Stamp 0”style visa so UK residents can bring their dependent elderly parents to live with them if they fully fund their stay. Applicants must prove private health insurance, suitable accommodation and a minimum income, mirroring Ireland’s Stamp 0. Impose no cost on the NHS or public funds.

Additional Information

Ireland’s Stamp 0 lets self-sufficient elderly parents live with family who pay for housing and private health cover. The UK Adult Dependant Relative route is so restrictive families stay apart. A similar UK visa would reunite families, support unpaid carers and add no cost to taxpayers.
