Work with devolved governments to extend the grooming gangs inquiry
Work with devolved governments to extend the national inquiry into group based child sexual exploitation to Scotland and Northern Ireland. We think this is a form of group based child sexual abuse which has been significantly neglected, and which is at risk of becoming worse.
The Casey Audit noted that a ‘significant proportion’ of suspects involved in child sexual exploitation cases are non-UK nationals or individuals claiming asylum.
Any inquiry must include Scotland and Northern Ireland.
