Reform school absence fines and restore parental authority.
Abolish school absence fines. Restore parental authority to decide family holidays. Remove schools’ power to deny reasonable requests. Parents should decide what’s best for their children, not schools.
Fines penalise struggling working parents who already face high costs. The system unfairly criminalises families choosing affordable holidays during term time. Schools shouldn’t override parental decisions about family time. Parents work hard and deserve the right to make reasonable choices about their children without financial punishment.
