Average the income and study hours annually for carers allowance eligibility

Petition Details

Average the income eligibility and or study hours over the year instead of on a week by week basis.

Additional Information

Carers allowance eligibility is currently set at under 21hrs a week supervised study, or £196 per week income.

We think the DWP should use the amount per year and average it to avoid penalising students who average less than 21 hours per week of supervised study over the year but exceed that amount during term time.
