Petition Action

Make it a requirement for hotels to have ceiling hoists in accessible rooms

Petition Details

There are very few hotels in the whole of the UK that have ceiling hoists. This means non-ambulatory people can't go on holiday or rely on hotels as temp accommodation. We think this needs to change. Gov need to make it a requirement for hotels to include a ceiling hoist in accessible rooms

Additional Information

Many people requiring temporary or emergency accommodation are not able to stay in a local hotel due to the lack of ceiling hoists. They may have to travel several hours between their work and the nearest accessible hotel. It also means if non-ambulatory people wanted to holiday in UK they cannot. We believe this needs to change so disabled people can have the same quality of life as non-disabled.
