Launch a National Inquiry into the MoD’s Afghan Data Breach and Its Consequences
The government must launch a full public inquiry into the Afghanistan data leak that exposed the personal details of thousands of Afghans who worked with the UK.
This catastrophic breach put lives at risk, forced a secret £850 million evacuation scheme, and was hidden from the public under a superinjunction. We believe an inquiry is vital to establish how this happened, responsibility for this, what lessons were learned (if any), and to ensure full transparency over the use of public money and national security failings. We owe it to those Afghans and to the British public.
